China Beijing Day 6

CCTV tower that was made popular by it’s burnt down building (shown below). Guide said that the government seized every firecracker manufacturer and thoroughly interrogated them through and through!

Being said, their next building defies physics! I mean, they lose so much floor space just by having that hovering section. Then again, China’s so huge.

From another angle, the building carries an upside-down “L” shape.

Silk. From eggs, to lavas, to worms, to your bed.

Soft, light and valuable silk

Hovering globe!

How they vacuum and seal the silk for less bulk before boarding the plane.
We bought ours, it was thinner than what they displayed. We’ve been conned! And it’s probably here that the switch took place.

If you love pink, this is it! The colors just keeps me awake ~_~

A picture with certain elements made of silk.

This is a palace. A palace so huge, this ‘dry’ patch is actually a man-made lake!

People walking across the drained lake.

The castle that we didn’t go.

This stone was popularly known as the “Stone of the Wastrel.” According to historical records, an official of the Ming Dynasty by the name of Mi Wanzhong found this large, dark and sleek stone, shaped like a fungus at Fangshan in the southwest of Beijing. While having the stone moved to his home at Shaoyuan, he fell into financial difficulties and had to abandon it. Years later, Emperor Qianlong of the Qing Dynastry had it moved to this place at much expense and named it “Blue Iris Stone.”. This is the largest stone decoration in any Chinese garden.

This passage, each column, has a different picture, a story of ancient lore such as the monkey god.

The gallows to hang all intruders and those who commit crimes.

Just kidding… it’s a place to hang your lantern.

Pearl factory. They ask you to guess how many pearls are in one shell. Unfortunately none inside are of great value, all destined to be grained into powder for sale. I’ll bet they already know which shells has the best pearls.

You think this pearl is precious? Jesus is the Pearl of Great Price. When you find Him, you’ll release everything you hold dear just to cling on to him.

5 star hotel! Touchscreen door bell. How cool huh.

Setting this door bell into a “no disturb” sign :D

Ambient in the 5 star hotel room.

Equipped with a bath tub jacuzzi

Just swipe your hand and it’ll start pouring water out for 18 minutes.
