This place, the Hanging Monastery, hottest there is -3 celcius… when my family was there, -16 celcius!
We didn’t become icicles, popsicles and ice cream only because the wind was mild and gentle.

Above me, hangs the hanging monastery. Pun intended. MUAHAHAHA

Chopping off my head gives you the whole view of the building…

A river dried of it’s contents.

A waterfall frozen in it’s “flowing” state!

The best view of the hanging monastery.
Architecturally, it was said that they had to drill 3 meters in, push a log in 2 meters and the last meter jutting out.
After they had constructed the whole building, they tried to remove the logs but found them totally stuck.
Afraid of the degrading nature of wood, they were fearful it won’t stand for too long. But to their surprise the wood remains solid and well because it was shielded from wind, rain and sun.
The position of the hanging monastery was well thought of. It has the moutain to shield it from rain, away from the wind and only gets 3 hours of sun everyday from 8am to 11am.
Upon close inspection, do you see the stilts that upholds the temple?
Believe it or not but they are for decoration only!
Without those stilts, only 500 visitors a year. After those decorative additions, visitations bloomed.

Top view at the hanging monastery.

Steps made of rocks. narrow!

As mentioned, these silts are fake, decor, movable and shakeable!

Metal studs up wooden steps to keep you from slipping.

Once again, imagine removing those stilts and see if you dare walk across this pathway.

Panda spotted. Target aimed. FIRE!

Holey toilet ~_~

The end of the visitaton. YES YES, thank GOD the bus has a heater
Woooooooooooooooooo!!! I wanna go there tooooooooo!
