1 Corinthians as well as Hebrews 6
Hebrews 6:13 When God made his promise to Abraham, since there was no one greater for him to swear by, he swore by himself, 14 saying, “I will surely bless you and give you many descendants.” 15 And so after waiting patiently, Abraham received what was promised. 16 Men swear by someone greater than themselves, and the oath confirms what is said and puts an end to all argument. 17 Because God wanted to make the unchanging nature of his purpose very clear to the heirs of what was promised, he confirmed it with an oath....

The big picture of chapter 4 is that the Hebrews is to enter a rest. The rest of God.
What is the rest of God?
1. Rest is not relief.
Relief is like relaxing or holiday. But they ain’t rest.
2. Rest is not absence of activity.
Absence of activity such as taking a break from giving service.
3. Rest is not retirement.
You might retire but you will be restless from worry.
Rest.
Repose.
Calmness.
Stillness in his spirit.
Peace that trancends all understanding.
1. Creation rest (Hebrews 4:4)
2. Canaan rest (Hebrews 3:11, 18; Hebrews 4:8)
3. Sabbath rest (Hebrews 4:9)
Rest is God’s gracious...

Hebrews 6:1
Can a christian lose his salvation?
No matter the debate, God has the final say.
“Lets go on to maturity”. Do not be immature to base your salvation on Pastor’s words.
There are two views :
Calvinist view : Once saved, always saved.
Arminian view : Freewill – we can lose our salvation if we choose to.
BUT they are just “VIEWS”.
Being “freewill”, but no man, not even God can or will violate your free will.
Hebrews 6 : 4 -12
keywords : public, deliberately , keep on sinning
metaphors : fire
4 possible interpretations

Self esteem – is it defined by…
How you feel?
Better after eating something really delicious and nice?
Better after getting a makeover or a new hairdo?
Inflated after being praised and edified?
To fit in into a group? Gang? What other people think about me?
There is a public and private conciousness. Must have a balance of both.
Though critized, u stand up for what u believe. You need to know who you are. You need to know why you are. That is strong self esteem.
IDENTITY
To know who you are, first know whose you are.
Think before every action, what I do next will...

Summarizes chapter 2.
When Jesus saved us….
He redeemed our personal dignity!
He restores our eternal destiny!
Do not harden your hearts
Fix = katano = think carefully
“to focus and contemplate until you fully internalize it”
“today”! If u hear the voice of the Spirit, do not harden your heart!

V1. Pay more careful ATTENTION!
Jesus is the final revelation
Warning #1: drifting from the Word (2:1-4)
Warning #2: do not doubt nor harden your heart to the Word (3:7-4:13)
Warning #3: dullness towards the Word (5:11-6:20)
Warning #4: despising the Word (10:26-39)
Warning #5: defying the Word (12:14-29)
These 5 warnings are progressive. From chapter 2 to chapter 12.
Drifting : is insiduos, not noticable
How does one drift?
Carelessness of anchoring
Did not tie carefully to causing the anchor...

Since April 2009, the interest in photography has grown tremendously due to the enthusiasm from surrounding friends with the same hobby.
Photography plays a huge part in life now as invitations flowed in droves from close friends, for me to be their professional photographer in their special occasions of their lives.
If you like the way photographs here are being shot and edited, you could consider hiring me to help you make your special occasions a memorable one.
Nothing gives me more pleasure than to help a friend to treasure moments that you will only experience once.
As I’m just a budding...
