There are rules when you submit the images.
Your first image must have something tagged that is found on the second image.
Then your second image must have something tagged that is found on the third image.
The tagged item doesn’t have to the focal point of the image, nor the main subject.
For example, my first image has “people” which is also found on my second image. My second image has “metal” which is found on my third image.
Saw this sound guy who has this boxing glove on. Shot with 70-200mm to isolate the subject, adding some green leaves and asked him to show some menacing pose makes him looking like “The Earth Guardian”.
A popular spot for many photographers makes this image a very common submission. I hope at least my composition of the train and the crossing of the people on the zebra crossing, including the vivid colours would make this a winner. Submitted this image for “City of Colours”
Water sprouting from the water fountain at Sungai Wang, taking this shot at 24mm f/1.4 stops the water in mid-air while holding the camera 1-inch above the water. Had to do a little cropping in the camera to tighten the composition. Submitted this image for “The Extraordinary of the Ordinary”
These are the images I submitted. As this post is done after the result, sad to say I didn’t win anything because I didn’t receive any emails from Canon. But it was definitely fun walking around and cracking your head for creativity.
So who is the winner? Your guess is as good as mine. I was busy and couldn’t get around going to Pavillion’s gallery on the following week after that.
Below is a video of the event’s highlights.
